I subscribe to various projects. Is there a way to force Boinc or connections to the project servers (e.g. seti@home) to go over SSL/443 only? I know there's a proxy option but that doesn't offer a way to specify https for the target URL. Thanks. |

You could force the use of HTTPS by editing all the project URLs in client_state.xml and probably those in account_*.xml But: - Most BOINC projects don't have their web server set up to do HTTPS. - Some allow HTTPS but use a "self-signed SSL key", which is not secure. - A few (including S@h, E@h, and Rosetta) support HTTPS with a CA-issued key (which costs money). S@h uses HTTPS wherever passwords are sent. Currently that's all it's used for. |

Just adding that theSkyNet POGS supports SSL with a CA-issued key as well :) Cheers Alex theSkyNet.org Webmaster |
