I have seen that when a new project begins, it creates an account for me, I guess because I am a team founder. The info it uses when creating my account is, however, wildly out of date. The e-mail address, for example, no longer exists. The new project must be getting this info from somewhere, where? There appears to be some issue here, I am not sure what it is however. Story... I discovered the Universe@Home project, from boincstats I think, doesn't matter, and, as it is a scientific area that appeals to me, had a look, and thought I'd give it a go. Set up my account, and downloaded a work unit, which seemed to run okay. So went further and figured I'd check out my team. Here, I was presented with a screen showing my team, and an invitation to join it, below this, I see the list of existing members, one of which is me. I assume that the project has created an account for me when it was set up as I am the founder of our team. I therefore have two accounts with the same name. My old e-mail address no longer works, it was removed some time this summer. When I log out and back in, using my old e-mail address, and request a password recovery, the mail link takes me to my new account. So? Disable you new account, add a non-existing email address into its account options. Then edit your account at BOINC Wide Teams, change the email address there to your new one. Hopefully you still know your BWT password. This data will propagate to all projects that use BWT, but depending on how many times a {period of time} they allow for this data to be received, this may take some time. Edit: ignore the bit of info about the authenticator key as that's not used. I flagged that already to BOINC Dev. |
