Hey, peeps. I've been out of action with BOINC over a year now due to a nasty health problem, though I started in early 2003. Now I'm back, and trying to install BOINC on my new MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemite. I tried to run the BOINC Installer, and I got an error saying the mpkg won't open. I tried the expected matter of switching in System Preferences to accepting everyone's programs, which I *did* need to do, but this did *not* fix the problem. I did reboot after that switch, just to be sure, and tried again, without luck. This is a late 2013 MacBook Pro running the latest Yosemite as of today, 27 Oct 2014. I installed the CUDA drivers without a hitch, both after trying the first time with BOINC Installer and before trying again later. Though that's possibly irrelevant. Help? I think it may be a strange matter of lack of association of the mpkg inside the installer with the Installer app in Library/Core Services, but I'm not sure. David |

Okay, I solved my own problem. Went into the BOINC Installer package, found the relevant .pkg file in I think the Resources folder, did Open With... the Installer app proper, and it all worked just fine from there. Just in case anyone else has this trouble, this is a workable fix. David |

Just to clarify, I pointed in Finder to the BOINC Installer, did Show Contents, within that went to Contents/Resources, found BOINC.pkg, on that file did Open With... Installer app and proceeded successfully. David |
