now that i'm running Windows 8, it freezes up the whole system CONSTANTLY.

i've updated all drivers.
that seems to be the only common denominator.

Your account
Project preferences
Uncheck Use AMD GPU, or Nvidia GPU, or Intel GPU, depending on which one you have.
Save changes on web site.
Open Boinc Manager, Projects tab, select the project you made the changes on, click Update.

Do this for each project that uses your GPU.
