I have installed version 7.2.42_macOSX_i686 and had the initial issue of my user account not being added to boinc_master, I added the user via dseditgroup now I have the error 1200. Ran disk permissions. still have error.

I have an opendirectory server at home and I am logging in using the network account not a local account. If I log in to the iMac with a local admin account BOINC works!

So what permissions should be set?

BOINC only works with local accounts, not with network accounts. There's no way around that.
