This may be addressed elsewhere but I couldn't find it. It would be nice to have a link on the main page to the Boinc Wiki and FAQ site. I did find the link here in the message board. The information I needed was spelled out step by step in regards to upgrading the Boinc software without losing current projects that I had running let alone the time required to re-attach to them (especially on my poor 56k modem :) Anyway, just a thought. The BOINC Wiki isn't official. It was started by Paul D. Buck and is edited by volunteers.

Yet it is prominently displayed in the Links page, linking from the front page of BOINC.

It's also always in my signature.

As for updating BOINC, just remember to do it the same as you probably update everything else: Just install it over the top of the old version.

Quoted from Wikipedia.org: "The word wiki is a shorter form of wiki wiki (weekie, weekie) which is from the native language of Hawaii (Hawaiian), where it is commonly used as an adjective to denote something "quick" or "fast" (Hawaiian dictionary). In English, it is an adverb meaning "quickly" or "fast".

The first wiki, WikiWikiWeb, is named after the "Wiki Wiki" line of Chance RT-52 buses in Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii. It was created in 1994 and installed on the web in 1995 by Ward Cunningham, who also created the Portland Pattern Repository."
