I left my PC turned on, with BOINC running, on Thursday morning at 8 am. It had done 4 hours of a 166-hour project (UK Met Office ADAM3P Australian & NZ). I just got back at 10 am on Saturday, and it says it has done 6 hours of the project. Obviously there is no point in leaving it running when I'm away. But does anyone know why it hasn't managed to do roughly 36 hours of work in the time between? NB I set it to max 75% CPU usage to avoid over-heating. Otherwise, the configurations are as installed. |

Windows power settings, probably went to sleep, I forget the default timeout (first thing I do is disable it). Control Panel>System and Security>Power Options. Claggy |

Thanks, I've set the PC to never sleep, and I've configured BOINC to keep the project in memory while suspended. That's an interesting tip re extra memory; if I continue to have problems with this, I'll follow it up. Thanks everyone. |
