I have just started with EinsteinatHome. However, I do not want the program to run right away when I power up the computer. I think there was a page during installation where you can set various parameters and now I cannot find that page and am looking for a hint! Thanks, alexander |

I'm using WinPatrol to set some programs to start up delayed. There's no option for this in Windows or BOINC. The only thing you can set in BOINC is whether you want to start BOINC Manager at Windows start up, or not. Anyway, the basic version of WinPatrol is free: http://www.winpatrol.com/ |

There are also options on a project's preferences page, to limit whether the computations take place when the computer is "in use" or not--and a setting of x minutes after the computer is not "in use" before computation is resumed. Not sure if that's more of what you are looking for or not. Generally, you won't notice performance issues with computation running unless they are GPU tasks (which usually cause a noticeable UI lag) or if you need to keep your memory open for other purposes. There are also options that can help you with those cases, while keeping the client running to achieve the most computation without interrupting the user's experience. My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |

There is <start_delay> option in Client configuration. BOINC is still started when OS starts or you log in but BOINC won't start science apps until after a delay. |
