I had a 'Linux Mint 15' 32 bit system running OK, using BOINC 7.0.28, and then 7.2.33, both from Berkeley. Now I've upgraded to Mint 16, 64 bit. Seemed to go OK, including downloading a lot of recommended 32 bit files. Downloaded 7.2.42 64 bit from Berkeley. Copied the download to the desktop, then sh 'd the file, which created the BOINC folder, with what seems to be all of the files. But both the boinc and the boincmgr refuse to "run"/"work". If from a terminal, "It's not installed" If from the gui, nothing happens. Looking at the content of these 2, (and the cmd file), gives a popup, which shows: (Oh that's good, the popup is staying on top :) ) ++++++++++++ Invalid url: '/home/leslie/BOINC/boinc' given, exiting No ':' in the uri ++++++++++++ I don't know where to go from here; 32 bit BOINC?; an earlier version?; both? I can't see any reports of others having this problem, so am I just doing this incorrectly? Les |

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC says to use run_client and run_manager, does that not work? To start the client manually enter the following terminal commands: |

Running those 2 just gives a 'file missing' message. After trying several things, I re-installed the OS, and then got the older version from Ubuntu. It's installed deep in the file system, where I don't have permission to (easily) look at the projects folder and below, but at least it works. |
