Hello, first post, hope it's in the right forum. I am running BOINC on my WHS2011. Since I updated BOINC to version 7.2.33, whenever I log off from an RDP session into the server or shutdown the server (either through RDP or directly when it is not running headless), I get an error for boincsvcctrl.exe: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.". It closes by itself and it does not seem to actually disrupt or hurt anything but still... I find it a nuisance. Is there anything I can do to correct this behaviour? KInd rgds, Umf |

I had a similar problem when shutting down my PC. Windows 7 32 bit Pro BOINC 7.2.33, installed as service When I shut down, sometimes boincsvcctrl.exe throws an internal error, sometimes the Windows shutdown process notifies that boincsvcctrl.exe has to be forced to close. One (but not both) of these always occurred when I had 7.2.33 installed. Eventually Windows does shut down. Also suspect this is the reason my PC would not enter sleep mode on timeout. Manually entering sleep mode works OK. After a few hours of experimenting (!), I found that reverting to BOINC 7.0.64 cleared all these problems. |

I had a similar problem when shutting down my PC. I have had this problem for a while too on Win7 64-bit, but I don't remember exactly the BOINC version where it started (presently on 7.3.11 x64). It comes and goes, but it often does not shut down even after a while. That is a real problem, since I control several of my PCs remotely over the LAN, and I have to attach a monitor and shut them down directly. It looks like I will have to go back to 7.0.64 too, or maybe just not run it as a service, though that is what I prefer. |

Has anyone found a solution for this? I have this same problem when shutting my laptop down. Removing and reinstalling does not fix this. http://aftercredits.com/ |
