Hi all Up to yesterday I've always ran boincmgr in KDE and everything worked fine. Yesterday I started using Fluxbox and I discovered that when ran from there, the manager isn't able to connect to the client anymore. When I open it, after a short time it states disconnected and I can do nothing to make it attach to the client. It still works on KDE, but I'd like to control it from both Fluxbox and KDE. I tried to run it inside a shell in order to paste the output, but it produced no output. I tried to manually authenticate using both the password I found in my /root folder and the one in my user's home folder. I also tried to authenticate via boinccmd, but with both passwords it stated "Authorization failure: -155" Is there any log I can check? Any way to solve this problem? |

Couple of days ago I've assisted fellow cruncher who experienced that -155 too. I had to go thus I'm not aware how much successful he was. However, that's probably closest I've found. I'm counting for science, points just make me sick. |

Solved. It seems I can't run it from my home folder. In order to connect to the client I must be (apparently) wherever but my home folder. I tried from / and I tried from /etc/boinc-client and also from /var/lib/boinc-client and it always worked. This is awkard and strange, but at least is a solution. For the ones which are interested to run it from a launcher, you can do "cd / && boincmgr". Thanks for your help |
