I have one specific computer running windows 8. For some reason whenever boinc runs. Whether I run it manually or wait for it to go when my comp is idle. It kills the graphics on my machine. What I mean is. lets say the system is running fine before boinc starts and if im getting for example 70 fps. Whenever boinc runs, it now only gets between 3-10 fps, permanently. No matter if I shut boinc back off again it stays running at such a low fps till I restart the computer. It also doesn't matter if I have it set to compute with gpu or to not use the gpu. if boinc runs it does it every time. Even with a fresh install it seems to still do it.

Does anyone happen to know what the problem is or if there is a fix for this other than uninstalling it from this machine?

What version of Boinc?

Mind passing by on this thread to read up on what minimal information is needed to be able to answer your question? For info of Windows 8 and frames per second is not enough.

Minimum:
- Hardware used.
- Project or projects which affect this.
- What 'graphics'?
