I'm doing a test to see how cost effective it is to run BOINC in the cloud. Using Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS x64, I have BOINC installed and attached to my project and account, there's no GUI and I'm newish to using a terminal but it's going well enough. My question is whether or not I need to install the ia32 libraries mentioned here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/System_requirements#Debian.2FUbuntu Just wanted to be sure whether it has to do with the accuracy of the results since BOINC seems to be running well. It's completing and uploading tasks, haven't seen the uploaded tasks show up as pending just yet but we'll find out soon enough if they're good. Thanks! |

You only need the libraries if the project sends 32bit applications to 64bit BOINC on a 64bit operating system. As long as the project sends 64bit apps, there's no need for the libs. But if you want to be safer than sorry, there's nothing keeping you from adding them. |

Thanks, looks like everything is working perfectly. Just needed a little patience. |
