Hello, ever since I upgraded BOINC to version 7.0.64, the projects that I have attached to the client keep disconnecting. I am not sure if this is a know issue or not, so I apologize if it is. I really enjoy using BOINC, but at this point, I cannot because the projects keep detaching every time I reboot my computer. Is there a solution to this problem?? ID: 49242 ·  |

I would like to add that they do reattach one by one; however, all the work units disappear while this occurs, and some of the units are lost. ID: 49243 · |

Were you using an account manager such as GridRepublic or BAM! before? As it sounds like that. Also, normally when you upgrade BOINC you don't have to redo anything, it'll use the same data directory as the previous version. Could you post the first 20-30 lines from Event Log, please? This cause me to lose some work units, and it causes me to be sent new ones that overwhelm my computer. This occurs after a reboot. Does anybody have a solution????? ID: 49280 · |

That you're missing some account_*.xml files. Or that something or someone is removing these files. Have you done a full check of the hard drive? Start->All Programs->Accessories->Right-click Command Prompt->Run as administrator->Acknowledge->then type: chkdsk /f /r /x and hit Enter. Next, reboot the system and when check disk begins, let it continue and finish the check! This may take several minutes if not hours, depending on the size of the hard drive, and the amount of problems on it. Do NOT reboot the system while it's checking the drive, this could make things worse! /f will fix errors on the disk. /r will locate bad sectors and recovers readable information. /x will force the disk volume to dismount first. Could this be caused by a piece of malware or a virus? I had to disable IE because it would countinually open after I opened it. It did not continually open to an adware site; it simply opened to my home page. ID: 49301 · |
