Hi,

I have been running Boinc as a daemon for years now, and updates did never brake it until now. After updating my BOINC client and manager to 7.0.65 using the BOINC Installer package, the daemon stopped working. I successfully ran the Make_BOINC_Service.sh again and after reboot, the daemon was still not running. I found the following messages in the console:

15/05/13 09:25:03,266 boinc[66]: 3891612: (connect_and_check) Untrusted apps are not allowed to connect to or launch Window Server before login.
15/05/13 09:25:03,266 boinc[66]: kCGErrorFailure: This user is not allowed access to the window system right now.
15/05/13 09:25:03,566 boinc[66]: [CL_INVALID_OPERATION] : OpenCL Error : Failed to retrieve device information! Invalid enumerated value!

The OS X version I am running is 10.8.3.

What should I do to make it work again?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I cannot reproduce this problem. What version of BOINC were you running previously? If you reinstall the earlier version and run Make_BOINC_Service.sh again, does it work as a daemon?

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps your download of BOINC 7.0.65 was corrupted. You might try downloading a fresh copy and trying again.

Actually, I can reproduce those error messages, but the client is running successfully as a daemon and does crunch data. Do you not see
Running as a daemon
near the beginning of the BOINC Manager's event log after you log in? Does Activity Monitor not show BOINC as running on your system (even if you quit BOINC Manager)?
