Further to my previous thread, I now have my gfx card detected, but all jobs fail after 15 seconds with a computation error. The CPU tasks are still happily running. Any thoughts on what might be causing this, Windows 8 maybe? Previous Thread: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8348 Many Thanks |

I don't think Windows 8 could in itself cause GPU computation errors because if this were the case hundreds of people would be posting here to ask why. What are your GPU specs? Which projects are you talking about? You might do better to post on the forum of the project(s) affected. |

At least you left enough clues in your message log to find your computer (and you used the same user name for confirmation, bless you) You are using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 'Kepler' GPU, and the stock SETI@home Enhanced v6.10 (cuda_fermi) application. Use the environment variable workround from the second section of SETI message 1296126. Sorry, I'm not equipped to post a Windows 8 version of the screenshots. |

Haha thanks Richard, that's twice you've saved me today. I set the variable, rebooted and now it's all running fine. I've got a few other machines with GPUs not being detected, but one for example is a mid 2010 iMac running Ubuntu. I'll look the specs up later and see if it's on the compatibility list. |
