I compute for four different projects that supply GPU work. Three of these four supply GPU work that does not interfere with me actually using the computer. The fourth reduces my framerate to something in the vicinity of 1 fps, even when the only non-BOINC things I have open are Outlook and Firefox. I would like to configure BOINC so that the one ornery project cannot use the GPU when I am using the computer, but the other three projects can, and so all four projects can use the GPU when I'm not using the computer. This seems like something that might go in app_info.xml, but the documentation doesn't mention this possibility. Is this something that is at all possible? Do I need to use an alternative manager? I also want all projects to be able to use the CPU at all times, but this is less important. If the currently available solution is "suspend this project when the computer is in use", as opposed to the desired "suspend this project's GPU tasks when the computer is in use", that would still be an improvement over "suspend all GPU tasks when the computer is in use". |
