I did just see that Collatz's prefs (on the collatz site) were set to use my GPU all the time. But BAM was set to suspend. I would think BAM is what's managing that, but I have to wonder if collatz was overriding it somehow. It shouldn't, as then it would show up in the global_prefs.xml file as being set so. And even then, the global_prefs_override.xml file is called this way because when saved, the local preferences will OVERRIDE all similar preferences as set in the web-preferences. Both your old global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml said: <run_gpu_if_user_active>0</run_gpu_if_user_active>, so that's the thing BOINC should follow. |

Yeah. I will say yoyo@home just started up when I was not using the machine, and immediately stopped once I moved the mouse a bit. So, we'll see what happens Tuesday. Have a great weekend! -Staze Systems Administrator |

BOINC successfully suspended when I came into the office today... so it SEEMS like it might be working now. Not sure if it was the presence of the override file, or the conflicting project settings, but it does seem to be working. Thanks! -Staze Systems Administrator |

Boinc doesn't suspend work while computer is on battery Hello, it seems I have a similar problem on my portable computers. I use the BOINC- Manager to run Rosetta@home and SETI@home on two notebooks (Windows7 64bit and an older one with Vista). I've unchecked "Computing allowed while computer is on batteries" in my local settings (every PC) and set "Suspend work while computer is on battery" on both accounts on the internet (SETI and Rosetta preferences). None of the both machines stops it's work when I pull the plug. Currently I'm running BOINC 7.0.28 64bit. What can I do? Where can I find those files you were talking about? I've looked for them in the folder C:\program files\Boinc but didn't find. Thanks for any help! |

Boinc doesn't suspend work while computer is on battery Make sure you haven't got the activity menu set to 'Run always' and that boinctray is actually running in Task Manager. Claggy |

Sometimes it seems to haunt... Of course Activity was set to 'Run based on preferences'. It's working quite well now, I don't know why. Maybe boinctray wasn't running in taskmanager.exe untill the last reboot, I've never checked that before. I wonder why it's working now, I'm dealing with the problem since weeks. However, many thanks! |
