D**n! That was the third fully composed post I've lost becuase I CLICKED ON A BUTTON in BOINC manager. I've completely lost interest in the original question. Would you please consider opening new browser windows instead of reusing whatever already happens to be open? Or maybe that's controlled by a setting in the "Preferences" dialog that I suspect exists *somewhere* (since the default behavior is to "Run based on preferences"), but all I could find is an "Options" dialog with network settings. (Yes, that was part of my original question after all; the main part was that the Help menu item doesn't do anything unless a browser window is already open). This is in 4.45, if that matters. (And since you asked, I *do* have a usability test background ;-) |

The manager just tells the browser to open the website. It's up to the browser how and where to open it. You should look into the preferences of your browser, there should be something like an "Open links from other applications in ..." option. |

Great tip! been muttering about that myself tonight... Thanks!! (j) James PS - In IE, the option is under Tools -> Internet Options, on the Advanced tab. It's called 'Reuse windows for launching shortcuts'. |
