Message 40570 - Posted: 7 Oct 2011, 7:31:36 UTC

I run BOINC Manager (Project Seti and Einstein) on my actual (old) PC. Recently I get a new PC and plan to stop using my old PC for BOINC.
I set BOINC Manager on old PC NOT to get new tasks after recent tasks completed.

After completed all tasks of both project how can I tell BOINC Manager to exclude my old PC?

I use BOINC Manager version 6.10.58 and wxWidgets version 2.8.10

Thx in advance.

Regards,
Marc

When your Tasks tab is empty (all tasks uploaded and reported), just detach that host from your account.[edit]And eventually uninstall BOINC.[/edit]

Hi Gundolf, thx for your quick reply.
Yes, my tasks have been uploaded and reported already.
How to detach the host from my account?
Is that in menu "Extras - Beenden des aktuell verbundenen Client..." ?

Thx in advance.

No, it's the "Detach" ("Abmelden") button in the Projects (Projekte) tab.

If you are using an (external) account manager like BAM! or GridRepublic, that button will be disabled and you'll have to detach via the account manager.

Hi Gundolf,
yes you are right, the Detach/Abmelden in BOINC Manager is deactivated, because I use GridRepublic.
In GR there is only option e.g. "Remove seti@home" under "Projects" tab.
Under tab "Computers" there is no "remove <computername>".
I see also in BOINC Manager in "Assistenten" an option "Stoppe die Nutzung von GridRepublic", but I don't know how and when to use it.

Do you have some suggestion how to exclude my old PC?

Thx in advance.

Marc

That's it then. Just select the menu item and then the "Abmelden" button will be enabled again.
