I'm working on MilkyWay@Home and whenever the projects get to 100% they stop and then don't do anything. When I tell them to update, they say "communication deferred" a timer starts, then when it ends nothing happens. It stays there at 100%. It's still crediting me for work done so I'm not sure if it went through or not. |

Thanks for your help, although I can't find completed projects on the list even when I tell it to view all projects. |

Thanks for your help, although I can't find completed projects on the list even when I tell it to view all projects. That's completed tasks, not projects, If your completed tasks have already been reported, you then can't view them in Boinc Manager, you'll just have to go the project website to view them there instead, Claggy |

I can not get enough work units to keep my computer busy i.e. my preference is to have 10 days of works unit availible, but I only have enough units for ~24 hours. When prompting the project for more, it bounces back "10/5/2011 8:07:10 PM | SETI@home | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" computer info: 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Starting BOINC client version 6.12.34 for windows_x86_64 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Libraries: libcurl/7.21.6 OpenSSL/1.0.0d zlib/1.2.5 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Running under account Ken 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Processor: 8 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz [Family 6 Model 26 Stepping 5] 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Processor: 256.00 KB cache 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 syscall nx lm vmx tm2 popcnt pbe 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Professional x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Memory: 5.99 GB physical, 11.98 GB virtual 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Disk: 931.41 GB total, 671.95 GB free 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | Local time is UTC -7 hours 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | | NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 470 (driver version 27533, CUDA version 4000, compute capability 2.0, 1217MB, 1089 GFLOPS peak) 10/2/2011 11:51:03 AM | SETI@home | URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5744107; resource share 100 It's frustrating when my computer can run ~20,000 credits a day, but because the project won't supply 10 days worth and with the I/O bottle necks and breakdowns, it only averages 10,000. Why am I not getting 10 days worth? |

Read the Forums over at Setiathome, this is the Boinc Message Boards and has nothing to do with Individual Projects. Basically there were scheduler changes that mucked up the DCF all hosts Wu's would achieve, (and prodicted runtimes) and when the fix was applied all hosts would overfetch work, so they applied a limit of 50 tasks for CPU's and 400 tasks for GPU's for now. As my one boss said "there are no anomalies, only what we don't understand yet" Thank you for the info. KC |
