I have to reattach to projects every single day now. Is this a problem with the actual project or BOINC?


The projects that are detaching by themselves are World Community Grid and rosetta@home. I am using a Macbook Pro running OS version 10.6.5 and BOINC version 6.10.58.

Are you also using an account manager such as BAM! or GridRepublic? For if you are, you will have to attach to your projects through the account manager, not through BOINC.

I was instructed to detach and reattach Cosmology. I detached but can't find out how to re-attach. Can anyone help, please.

It depends on your using an account manager or not.

If you do, you'll have to use it to (re)attach. Ask at their forum for help or at least tell us which one you use.

If you don't, you need to switch the BOINC manager to the advanced view. Then look for the "Attach to project/account manager" menu item. It should be in the "Advanced" or the "Tools" menu. From there, you invoke the "Attach wizard". Remember to attach as "returning user" lest you create a new project account.

If you don't, you need to switch the BOINC manager to the advanced view.

There's an "Add project" button right there in the Simple View, which switches you to the same wizard as the Advanced view option will do. No need to tell people to switch to Advanced View, if only to make you feel more secure.

Sorry, but I did check before I posted, and (probably since I'm using BAM!) there's only the "synchronize" button in my simple view display. That's why I suggested the advanced view.

It's a slow day, typing, but when attach to a AMS, the button is replaced in at least 6.10 + 6.12 by the Sync button :D

In 5.10.45 too. ;-)

I am using BOINC Manager and found it under Tools rather than Advanced.
