Hi!

Boinc version 6.10.17
Ubuntu 10.04
i7 920 4 GB Ram

Boinc was running great for me, but now it won't run at all.

WHen I start boinc manager, it sits for awhile and then says error and unable to connect to localhost...

there is nothing useful in advanced view, simply blank areas of the manager window under each tab, so nothing is done (just greyed out buttons, etc.)

when I checked to see if the actual boinc program was running, it wasn't, so I tried starting it through nautilus. It would start and then promptly disappear from the system monitor window.

I then tried running it from the terminal window and got this...

Boinc was running great for me, but now it won't run at all.

Thus, boinc had been running OK, then something has changed system-wise; boinc segfaults for now. You should recall what has changed at step two.

points just make me sick.

I have encountered this problem when my internet connection is down. Somehow, the boinc manager gets confused when starting up. I think it shares sockets or something.

If this is not it, then I would next reinstall libc.so.6 since that is the module that spits up.
