I have been running BOINC on a Windows XP machine. At present it is focused solely on the Nutritious Rice project. Now I have installed boinc and boinc-manager on an Ubuntu 9.10 machine. In the BOINC Manager GUI, I see World Community Grid as my project, which is fine. It shows work done = 0.00, even though boinc has been installed on this machine for some weeks. In the Messages tab, BOINC Manager shows repeats of "Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA ..." On the World Community Grid webpage, the only device shown for my account is the WinXP machine. There does not appear to be a way to add a device at that webpage. I would like to get BOINC running on the Ubuntu machine, using the same World Community Grid project and account as the WinXP machine. Any suggestions? |

Thanks but, you know, had I asked the question weeks ago, I probably still would have gotten an answer that doesn't help me. Looks like the easier solution is just to bail out of World Community Grid. |
