"The client" ... which version? "can't connect"... How not? What error message do you get? "can't connect" - 2... Can't connect to what? BOINC manager can't connect to the client? Client can't connect to the internet? What? |

I just installed the newest version of Boinc for Win7/64, and appear to be running on only one processer whereas before this install I would run two work units at once. Am I seeing this incorrectly? Are there any preferences I should change? A reply will be much appreciated, and thanks! Happy new year!\ edit: To clarify, I run SETI only, so used to see it running two work units at the same time, but now see one. |

Check preferences for "On multiprocessors, use at most xxx% of the processors". Make sure it's set to 100%. Check that you aren't using the local advanced preferences. Local advanced preferences will override web-based preferences. If you don't want to use these local prefs, go BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences->Clear. |

Thanks for the prompt reply. I checked, and the processors field was already at 100%. I then cleared the local prefs. Unfortunately, I am still only running one work unit at a time. Any other suggestions? |

Since I can't find your user ID at SETI (perhaps a database issue there), could you post a link to your computer details (or the host ID)? Does windows task manager still show more than one CPU (core)? Gruß, Gundolf |

I went to my online account, and found that the number of processors was set to one, so I changed it to two and updated the project. Now I'm running both. I'm guessing that field changed when I updated to the newest version of Boinc. |
