Im not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if not, it should be. The Aqua@home project now has multithreaded tasks, meaning that when a task from the Aqua project is running, it is using all 8 threads on my i7 computer. This is all fine. However, when this task is in waiting, Boinc isnt running 8 other tasks (that is, it's not using all the threads it could be using). I dont know why that is, but I do suspect it has something to do with that multithreaded task in waiting as it has never happened before, and always happens when I have such a task there. It varies how many tasks it will run when the MT task is on wait; right now for example it is only running one task on the CPU (and one on the GPU, which doesnt get affected by this), meaning it's only utilizing one eighth of the CPU power it could be utilizing. This should have been fixed in Changeset 19522, expect this fix to appear in one of the next releases. Claggy |

It's been mentioned. While we're waiting for the next version to be built and tested, v6.10.13 works reasonably well and does use all threads. |
