Im runing Boinc on my main computer, I have another 3 with lan access but no internet access (and there are not allways on), I want to know is there is a way to "share" workunits between 3+ Pcs on my lan. So all the PCs are working on the same workunits, speeding the process a lot... thanks Alejandro |

Simple answer: No. To be able to use BOINC, each computer needs internet access, be registered on its own and crunch work on its own. There is no way multiple computers can crunch together on one task or model on any of the BOINC projects. The same as there is no way multiple CPUs (or cores) can crunch together on one task or model. |

sad to read that, thanks Ageless. I think that this can be a good addition, specially in environments with Pcs with limited or no access at all to internet, and "servers" that can "share" the workitem between the terminals I still using 1 PC then. thanks! Alejandro |

If you want to put those 3 computers to good use, why don't you allow access to the net, download boinc + wu's & disable net access while they're crunching away? |
