Hi all, I upgraded my boinc software to interface with my NVIDIA GPU. When running the client thereafter, I noticed that my computer tended to overheat, causing the machine to shut down. I had begun tinkering with the processor usage in attempt to temporarily rectify this problem. This evening, while seeing if I'd gotten the usage right by running the client, my computer froze and went to a static screen. Now, each time I attempt to restart, I get a static screen at some point in the boot process "usually even before bios runs." Have I tosted my GPU, or is there a more likely (and less costly) explanation? |

Yes, do explain what screen appears. Also try if you can start up in Windows Safe Mode. Add what Windows you use, plus the rest of the intricates of your computer (or give a link to it on whatever project you're using it on). |

Hi there, thanks for replying. Not much of any screen appears, it's just a bunch of white static and a line going through the screen. I'm running ubuntu and I got to the loading screen when I start it up but then I got the screen of static death once again. Usually I get the static the second I release the start button. |
