Are there any projects available on BOINC which will assist the search for vaccines or treatments for influenza-type infections? If there are, then I suggest we as a global community should temporarily park searches for ET and other nice to have projects and help with this. |

Drugdiscoveryathome.com (later today to be announced through the various stats sites) is another one. It needs an invitation code though. |

Are there any projects available on BOINC which will assist the search for vaccines or treatments for influenza-type infections? Good idea, let's stop the world to find a treatment for influenza, which has killed 42 people, while 108,100 die monthly of Malaria. |

progress is progress. try not to alienate some of the host & computers that are around when the malaria project seems to have tons of work. last time i checked. (solving one problem may lead to the solution of another. Or, one's progress may be speed up by another solution.) give me a good reason why i should turn off wcg which may lead to a number of discoveries in medical and energy field, and focus on malaria. also, your comment is not valid; due to the fact that the flu (common and non-common) causes tens of thousands of deaths each year as it is a seasonal and non-seasonal event. i wish we could cure everything and be "Star-Trekkie" in-which there are no major diseases. |
