Now a location of the folder for intermediate results is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\... Can I change a location of the folder(s) to disk D: where I save all my documents? Because from time to time I use soft for reserve copy of disk C: and if I would do restore the disk my recent BOINC results will be lost. |

Yes. The easiest way is to uninstall BOINC through add/remove programs and reinstall it. In the 3rd screen in the installer, you'll find an Advanced button. Click it and you can define the paths of your BOINC and BOINC Data directories your self. |

Yes, I saw this way while installation. But what about my recent folder and data this case? They will move automatically? Or I have to remove BOINC folder from old location to new one manually? And what about current tasks? They will be continued? |

When you uninstall BOINC, the data directory will be moved back into the BOINC directory automatically. What we call migration (also showing in the messages in the installer). Then when you install BOINC again, all the correct files plus directories will be migrated to the new data directory you appointed. No work should go lost. Although do check that you use the same version of BOINC. There is still a problem with the migration process when you accidentally switch from a 64bit BOINC to a 32bit BOINC... |

Well, I've changed the data folder location as well as you said. Everything is ok, boinc is working, but when I try to add new project I can not do this because after enter my e-mail and password I get info about deny. Is this problem connected to moving data folder? |

It shouldn't be related. Which project? What are the words used in the "deny" message? |

Check case sensitivity. Everything must be filled in in lower case. |

Ooops! It seems I've understood. When I tried to connect to the new project I filled fields as exsisting member (with my login and password). But each new project needs new registration! I thought my login and password are common for all boinc projects... :) |

All projects are totally separate. They only know about you when you join them. And LHC probably isn't much use joining these days. There are a million computers attached *, and the scientists only release a few thousand WUs once every few weeks. You may go for months without getting any work from there. * Roughly. :) |
