Hi Guys, I set up my new system and installed Boinc (with Seti@home) Ran the CPU benchmark and getting :- CPU's - 8 3205 MIPS (Whetstone) 7506 MIPS (Drystone) This doesn't seem anywhere near high enough? Just to compare using Sisoft Sandra 2009 Processor Arithmetic (My Core i7)- 92.2 GIPS Same again with Q6600 Quad Core @ 2.4Ghz - 53.28 GIPS Is this a fault with Boinc? I am still quite new to all this, but i expected this CPU to crunch through the data a lot faster I have tried disabling Hyper Threading, it didn't make any difference to my CPU result (but got me a 20% drop on Sandra) thanks EDIT Results from another use found on a forum Conroe E6600 @ 3.6Ghz, 9x400, p5b dlx WinXP, 5.8.11 ~3380/7000 Pretty much the same as mine, although my system should be far, far faster? I think that is your score per CPU. Still I think its slow. My E5200 gets around that much. Try closing all applications except BOINC and then running the benchmark. |

From a cruncher on cpdn: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 940 @ 2.93GHz (running @ 3.4GHz) Measured floating point speed 3247.2 million ops/sec Measured integer speed 8303.7 million ops/sec |
