Seti@Home WU runs sometimes hours without progress. After stopping BOINC and restarting everything OK. PC runs on AMD Athlon Dual Core 3800+ and Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

Which is most probably a bug with the new Seti 6.03/6.04 application. You'll need to report it at their forums.
