Boinc won't stop running when I exit from it. On my other system, I select exit from the menu and it stops. It always has on this one until the latest upgrade. Boinc doesn't show up anywhere after I exit unless I go into task manager, but stopping the program through that is not a good thing.
Any suggestions?

It sounds as though you've installed version 6.2.18 in Protected mode, which is a service install.
When you "exit from BOINC", all that you're doing is shutting down the gui. The daemon will still be running.
Please read the FAQ, linked from the same page as the Download program on this web site, which explains all about this, and how to really stop BOINC.
