I just upgraded boinc from 5.8.16 to 5.10.45 on my fedora core 7 64-bit system. I cleaned out everything from 5.8 and did a clean install of 5.10. After reattaching to all of my projects it downloads a work unit but after the benchmarks the work units just say suspended forever. I've tried stopping and restarting the boinc service and I've tried suspending the projects manually but nothing seems to work. Anybody have any ideas? -J |

I noticed that after I posted so I removed the first try of 5.10.45 and installed via yum but I got the same result. -J |

What are your preferences set to do in terms of crunching? Only when the computer is idle, or always? |

I have it set to always run and the network is always available on this client. I also attached it to einstein, LHC, simap, rosetta & pirates but all of the work units it's downloaded still say suspended. |

I have it set to always run and the network is always available on this client. What do the message logs say? BOINC always runs benchmarks after a version change, and there are bugs in this area...... |

That's the strange part, there's nothing in the stderr log and the client log looks normal. It finished its benchmark, downloaded the work units and then just sits there. If I manually suspend it lists that out in the log but after I "un-suspend" I never get the Starting computation. I should also mention that I didn't change the running preferences when I upgraded and I've got 2 WinXP boxes crunching happily with the same settings. Could I be missing a package for the 5.10 build that was never needed for 5.8? But the 2nd install I did was from the yum package so shouldn't that have caught all of the dependencies? -J |

Just installed the boinc-dev package but still nothing. I may just go back to 5.8 because I know it works and wait for the 6 track. |
