As soon as BM comes up, rainbow wheel appears and, a few seconds later, BM reports that it's unable to connect to the client. Manually connecting to localhost doesn't work either; MB waits indefinitely. Reverted back to v.5, works fine from where I left it, will report back with proper investigation, once my cache flushes... I didn't even uninstall v.5 FGS!!! |

It definitely doesn't work. Even after completely uninstalling v5. However, I notice the following error messages under stderrgui.txt: connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused launchctl: Couldn't stat("/Library/LaunchDaemons/edu.berkeley.boinc.plist"): No such file or directory nothing found to load launchctl start error: No such process connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused Any ideas? |

I've asked the developer to come by, yesterday already. Now bear with me, I know next to nothing about the Macintosh, but which version of OS X do you have? Is it the minimum of 10.3.9 or above? |

I've asked the developer to come by, yesterday already. I tend to read the readmes very carefully... Yes, it's OS X 10.5.2... latest. Regarding the matter, I can find no .plist file under /Library/LaunchDaemons/ as well. |

Hm... is there any chance I should RESTART OS X after installing BOINC v6? I haven't done it... Well, worth a try, there goes my month+ uptime again... Damn! |

Heh... looks like it's working now... Not sure what did the trick, the restart, or that I removed BOINC service (which wasn't running by the way), but I hate restarting anyways! • BOINC Manager still displays the Preferences window at the wrong size (Have to stretch it downwards a bit in order to see processor % setting). This GUI bug has been around for -like- always... • It's a bit difficult to get the resize column cursor when looking at Projects tab under BOINC Manager. • I am using 40% for CPU usage and the screensaver comes and goes according to this setting. That is, project graphics show up for a second or two, then reverts to BOINC logo with "suspended" text and so on... However, I never used BOINC as a screensaver up until now, so I don't know what the case was prior to v6 BOINC. • Alex Kan's SETI client works fine, by the way... Will test setting as a service next. |
