I am running the BOINC client on ubuntu virtual machine and tried to attach to the project using the boinc_cmd interface. When i run ./boinc_cmd --lookup_account http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ (my emailid) (password) I am getting the following messages status: success poll status : operation in progress poll status : http error Can anyone lead me to run the BOINC client from virtual m/c using command line interface?? |

XP? You must allow under Preferences for Lan -> Other -> "Other users to use your network-connection" and set up VMware Network Adapter VMnet1 or VMnet8. Normally you should have web-access inside your vm. ![]() |

XP? You must allow under Preferences for Lan -> Other -> "Other users to use your network-connection" and set up VMware Network Adapter VMnet1 or VMnet8. Yes I have done that, both VMnet1 and VMnet8 are enabled. What else could be the problem?? |

seems to be that the xp-firewall is denying access to your boinc-vm. try only short for testing to disable xp-firewall and see if it works. which vmware-version are you using? ![]() |
