Dont know. Never seen a call for 16gb allocated space in order to get a few mb of work to download. Something is wrong, the best action to uninstall, delete all BOINC and really install it into a directory called C:BOINC and not C: O.K., the installation has been re-done. I would really like if possible to cut back on whatever we did that is not necessary. I am thinking that the 80% is not necessary. The 30 gigs? This is more understandable to me. I mean if you look at my other major crunch machine, DesktopII, it is running at BOINC defaults all around, with no trouble. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings ![]() ![]() |

DesktopII, it is running at BOINC defaults all around, with no trouble. But BOINC defaults are reasonable. Use at most 100 GB disk space Leave at least 0.001 GB disk space free Use at most 50% of total disk space I'm still finding that BOINC runs best on a partition of its own, where you can set the limits to be exact to those of the partition size you set. As long as you use one drive, one partition, you'll always have problems when it comes to the maximum BOINC may use, or when it stops working due to the percentage setting. If your numbers of 81.11 GB total, 46.62 GB free are still correct, then lowering the percentage of total disk used will get you into trouble again as you're using more than 50% of that disk already (57.5%). |
