It would be nice to be able to test the firewall/proxy compatibility of a BOINC version with a separate small program before upgrading the full BOINC client.

It would just have to download one reference web page and it would have to use the proxy settings from a client_state.xml or take the equivalent parameters from command line.

It should also log the full HTTP and proxy handshake to stdout or to a file.
