I just ran boinc_5.8.16_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh* on slamd64. After I get to the part where I create an account for any project's URL, it acts like I did not create the account, saying it is a bad username or something. What do I do? |

Which project? What is the exact error you get? Most importantly... how are you filling in the registration? Email address, password twice? |

I tried it for at least one project in each category, and most of the math projects. I entered an email address and twice a password. They all say "Failed to attach to Click Finish to Messages from server: missing or bad parameter: user_name" |

Did you allow BOINC through any firewall or proxy that you are using? What if you go to the project's website and create an account first, then try to log on using the email address/password that you used to create the account with? |

I do not use a firewall or proxy. I made an account at one site (which worked,) but another does not seem to have a place to do that. But, there is probably also something wrong with the software. |

All projects still have the create account form on their site, even if they do not have a direct link to it on the main page. Just add create_account_form.php to the URL. So example given, http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/create_account_form.php .. that'll get you to the account creation form on Einstein. |

I should be able to participate in any of them now. Thanks for the help! |
