I got a new PC and am trying to setup Boinc on it, but I cannot. I have entered the proper proxy settings. The only difference between my old PC and my new one is my old one is running an older version (5.8.16) and my new PC is running the latest version (5.10.20). Other than that, the proxy settings are the same, I have the same network access, same proxy access. I've even disabled my anti-virus/firewall to see if that make a difference, it does not. 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Starting BOINC client version 5.10.20 for windows_intelx86 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Libraries: libcurl/7.16.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8e zlib/1.2.3 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Data directory: C:\\Program Files\\BOINC 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.80GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13] 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Memory: 1.99 GB physical, 3.33 GB virtual 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Disk: 74.47 GB total, 60.85 GB free 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Local time is UTC -5 hours 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 1019.02MB 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 1834.24MB 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Preferences limit disk usage to 9.31GB 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||This computer is not attached to any projects 9/13/2007 7:56:01 AM||Visit http://boinc.berkeley.edu for instructions 9/13/2007 7:56:12 AM||Fetching configuration file from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/get_project_config.php 9/13/2007 7:56:42 AM||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 9/13/2007 7:56:49 AM||Access to reference site failed - check network connection or proxy configuration. http://aftercredits.com/ |

You seem to have the same problem the person in this thread has. Have you asked at the Seti forums if other people there have the same problem? |

You seem to have the same problem the person in this thread has. Have you asked at the Seti forums if other people there have the same problem? No, but I am having this issue with other projects as well. http://aftercredits.com/ |

Which projects are affected? Are there projects that can connect? Between 5.8.16 and 5.10.20 curl changed, and curl takes care of how to connect to the internet. See if this Trac ticket is of help. What kind of proxy are you using? |

Which projects are affected? Are there projects that can connect? I've tried Seti, Rosetta and World Community Grid, all cannot connect. I'm not sure what type of proxy we are using honestly. I've put my regular account and Admin account into the Proxy settings screen. As well as two different proxy addresses that we have here. Nothing works. http://aftercredits.com/ |
