New to Boinc, tried search and looking through the faqs and the wiki, but so far I'm unable to find the answer to this question.

Is there a way to set the max cpu usage based on whether the pc is idle or active?

Mainly, I'm looking to keep boinc at 50% of cpu when my pc is active, and let it go wild when it's idle. I know there's a memory setting like this, only cpu one though I've found has been for just overall usage.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Nope. As of right now, there is only one global setting for CPU throttling.

I don't believe it's been suggested through Trac as an enhancement.

You can submit it or I can.

Good idea and all but if you just leave BOINC at 100% when active it backs off quite well on its own. in fact you rarely notice it running and it keeps your CPU at a toasty warm 100% usage lol
