New to Boinc, tried search and looking through the faqs and the wiki, but so far I'm unable to find the answer to this question. Is there a way to set the max cpu usage based on whether the pc is idle or active? Mainly, I'm looking to keep boinc at 50% of cpu when my pc is active, and let it go wild when it's idle. I know there's a memory setting like this, only cpu one though I've found has been for just overall usage. Any and all help is appreciated. |

Nope. As of right now, there is only one global setting for CPU throttling. I don't believe it's been suggested through Trac as an enhancement. You can submit it or I can. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac Requires separate registration. Kathryn :o) |

Good idea and all but if you just leave BOINC at 100% when active it backs off quite well on its own. in fact you rarely notice it running and it keeps your CPU at a toasty warm 100% usage lol |
