I am not being able to make Boinc recognize the GPU in Linux Zorin. i have tried everything I could think of. Any help would be appreciated.

Boinc 7.24.1
I installed it fron Zorin command line because I could not find it on the Boinc page.

According to this page it's based on Ubuntu.
So please check your version of the OS, find (probably in the Internet if you not sure) what is the corresponding Ubuntu version it's based on, that go to this page and follow the instructions to istall the latest version of the BOINC software, because 7.24.1 is very old.

Yes, snap might be the issue.
Try to install a regular installation without snap, it should work.
I have in plans to fix the snap package, but currently I have no timeline for that.

Sorry, tried but not helpful and I am the only user.

I am sorry but Boinc is unstable on Zorin. I have been on this project even before there was Boinc and only Seti. When Linux wants my pass word when ever i sneeze then where does this other user argument enter? I have installed boinc seven times now and faced the same result.
In all my years running Boinc on Windows where there is nil security this argument never cropped up. Why on Linux Zorin?

Because that is how LINUX was designed- to be secure.
Not only do you have file permissions, but you also have ownership, as well as user accounts and groups (which also are part of Windows, but are by default much more loosely setup).

I suggest you either learn about accounts, groups and permissions under LINUX- as that is necessary in order to be able to use it without constant frustration (unless you set things up a particular way and never, ever change then again), or move back to Windows.

The message about the gui password is a direct consequence of the way LINUX is set up to be more secure by default. To get rid of that message you can add a password. Personally, I just ignore the message when it appears on my XUbuntu installations. I have used This Guide in the past to get graphics working with BOINC. It is some time since I last did this as my main projects don't have tasks that use GPUs.
