I just installed BOINC 8.2.4 on two new laptops (both Win11, most recent version) and connected them to my BAM account. Both ran 1 unit and then stopped getting work. The second laptop ist still here, so I can post the log file. 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | Starting BOINC client version 8.2.4 for windows_x86_64 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | Libraries: libcurl/8.14.1-DEV Schannel zlib/1.3.1 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | Data directory: D:\BOINC\Data 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | Running under account XXXXX 07.09.2025 16:30:57 | | OpenCL: Intel GPU 0: Intel(R) UHD Graphics (driver version 32.0.101.6737, device version OpenCL 3.0 NEO, 6.96GB, 6.96GB available, 768 GFLOPS peak) 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Windows processor group 0: 12 processors 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Computer name: LaptopAS2025 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Processor: 12 GenuineIntel 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U [Family 6 Model 154 Stepping 4] 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni pclmulqdq ssse3 fma cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 movebe popcnt aes f16c rdrandsyscall nx lm avx avx2 adx gfni vaes vpclmulqdq tm2 pbe fsgsbase bmi1 smep bmi2 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | OS: Microsoft Windows 11: Core x64 Edition, (10.00.26100.00) 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Memory: 15.75 GB physical, 18.62 GB virtual 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Disk: 244.14 GB total, 110.18 GB free 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Local time is UTC +2 hours 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | Usable WSL distros: 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | - boinc-buda-runner (WSL 2) (default) 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | - OS: Alpine Linux (Alpine Linux v3.21) 07.09.2025 16:30:59 | | - Docker version 5.3.2 (podman) 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Computing prefs: from https://bam.boincstats.com/ (last modified 07-Sep-2025 08:48:48) 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Computing prefs: computer location unspecified; using default 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Computing preferences: 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - When computer is in use 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - 'In use' means mouse/keyboard input in last 3.00 minutes 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - max CPUs used: 6 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Use at most 75% of the CPU time 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - suspend if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 80% 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - max memory usage: 12.60 GB 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - When computer is not in use 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - max CPUs used: 6 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Use at most 75% of the CPU time 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - suspend if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 80% 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - max memory usage: 12.60 GB 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Suspend if running on batteries 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Leave apps in memory if not running 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Store at least 0.20 days of work 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Store up to an additional 0.20 days of work 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - max disk usage: 100.00 GB 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - Preferences don't depend on whether computer is in use 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | - (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select 'Options / Computing preferences...' in the Manager) 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Setting up project and slot directories 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Checking active tasks 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Using account manager BOINCstatsBAM! 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ | URL http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/; Computer ID not assigned yet; resource share 100 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ | Not using CPU: account manager settings 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | Einstein@Home | URL https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID 13237779; resource share 50 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | Einstein@Home | Not using CPU: account manager settings 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | LHC@home | URL https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/; Computer ID 10897203; resource share 0 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | Rosetta@home | URL https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/; Computer ID 6336172; resource share 15 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | Rosetta@home | Not using CPU: account manager settings 07.09.2025 16:31:05 | | Setting up GUI RPC socket ... I can see why BOINC is not requesting any tasks ("Not using CPU"), but I have no clue how BOINC got to that conclusion. See the screenshota below, that give the current settings from BAM (sorry, the first is in German): ![]() ![]() Or is there some switch I am missing here? Thank you very much for any advice that you can provide! Friedrich |

OK, - now that I have posted my question - I found the solution. I seems to be a problem with BAM! I detached the client and re-attached it. Now it is getting tasks. So this is no wjust for the records. Thanks! Friedrich |

I am also on version 8.2.4, but on Android, and I am also not getting any new tasks, for at least a few days now. Also, I have 3 tasks for Mapping Cancer Markers ( World Community Grid ) that have been listed as "uploading" for a few days already. I use Science United as my project accounts manager. |

Well, a new tasks are now coming in from Einstein@Home, so I guess my issue was just normal network queuing problems. |
