Thx for the news!

I had already the feeling the mirror died while restoring. Thats always a sweaty part while RAID restoring.

Thank you for the update, Natalia. I remember your username from the SiDock forums. Secondary backups are a must! I look forward to the project moving forward with eBola & Covid research and keeping data open.
SiDock going down left BOINC with essentially zero active, functioning biological projects IMO. Perhaps WCG can gain consistent reliability and performance before the year is over.

That reminds me the anecdotes i had heard about RAID 1 with two disks having the same age and thus failing at exactly the same moment. Of course i doubt it is RAID 1 we are talking about.

Einstein upload server has come back, but the main project server remains 'down for maintenance'.

Edit: main server is back, too.

CPDN website and BOINC communications both down.

Not a planned outage as far as I am aware.
traceroute gets as far as the JANet network before giving up.

The website has now moved on to a 403 Forbidden error.

And BOINC has moved on to the following,

Sun 24 May 2026 04:50:57 PM BST | climateprediction.net | Scheduler request to https://main.cpdn.org/cgi-bin/cgi failed: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK

Website SSL certificate is coming back to "aurai"** no dot com, org, etc.

** www search on that name shows a Dutch AI company with a website of https://aurai.com/

The About us of the website says this:

Came back somewhere between midnight and 03:30 this morning, local time - so out for around 24 hours.

Feels like the IT team for Oxford University - the hosting institution for CPDN in the UK - decided to do some maintenance or upgrade work during a long holiday weekend.

Asteroids has been up and down for me too for about 8 hours according to my BOINC logs. Just uploaded several tasks a few minutes ago from my phone by forced manual retry 3x before finally connecting.

Had lots of problems with the website/forums about 12 hours ago with the "403 error" but if I refreshed several times it would load until I needed another web page.
