Just tried to install the new BOINC manager version on my Linux hosts. The first line I copied and pasted into the terminal but the terminal replied that the curl command was incorrect. If I just use the last line (sudo apt install..) I get the old BOINC version again. Did anything change with the new UBUNTU 24 which makes it incompatible?

It installed OK for me on 24.10

(I installed the alpha version 8.1.0 copying and pasting the instructions. I haven't tried 8.0.4 or 0.2 from the instructions there. On Ubuntu25.04 I have successfully installed 8.1.0 compiling from source but I get that installing an alpha version of BOINC on a nightly build prior to the official release is not for everyone!

Please keep in mind that we support LTS releases only.
For the exact OS releases please check this wiki page: https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/wiki/Linux-DEB-and-RPM-support
BOINC maintainer.
For any insight, check my BOINC Development Blog.

I think curl isn't installed by default for some reason.
