Hello! I have a problem with Boinc 8.0.2. If I use Boinc as a flatpack everything works fine (except for LHC), but if I want to use the installable version I always get the following error message: Invalid client RPC password. Try reinstalling BOINC. A new installation does not bring any improvement. Neither does a sudo usermod -a -G boinc ralf Now my question: “Is it possible to copy the data from the flatpack into the installed version and if so from where to where and with which rights?” Many thanks in advance. I can't remember where the flatpack version keeps data. For Linux the default from either a package manager or compiled from source installation is /var/lib/boinc |

I tried to find out everything that has to do with Boinc using Catfish. Of course I will not list all files here, there are places like: /var/lib/pacman/local/archlinux-appstream-data-20250202-1/files /var/lib/pacman/local/boinc-8.0.2-2/install /var/lib/flatpak/repo/objects/40/76f2eaabfac0800aa7c15140d8cb403a6bd9f11ef49e19942d6c6007eb9725.file /var/lib/flatpak/appstream/flathub/x86_64/8000d0a2df37c8b9960d30f33bd288bbe225095ed72fc7d49d6514c35887abbf/appstream.xml /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/23.08/507806048b865751a58580843c9dd77983fea138f268f1fb442474c9d4c46051/files/etc/services /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/46/cfb8e628b58092ca709a7ea19212ee6718294bc34ace6a208d10129c7110ecd1/files/etc/services /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/org.kde.Platform/x86_64/5.15-24.08/25b14a26740d8b58b3e27a03dfd3c08cdbdebf58d9ee55222577fe6c9ef1d494/files/etc/services /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/edu.berkeley.BOINC.Locale/x86_64/stable/e8f9c01477ea580b4780d1f64e7ce8f15373305e749789d477c5f138b81c51d8-de/metadata /var/lib/flatpak/app/edu.berkeley.BOINC/x86_64/stable/f7b700556b5642bf9842f85b76c4cc2480fb4c8f75f928f0ea71b380dab5e8a1/metadata /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg /home/ralf/.var/app/edu.berkeley.BOINC/stderrdae.txt /home/ralf/.var/app/edu.berkeley.BOINC/projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta/9a_ce1_i_hal_9aa_ce1475_d9_0001.flags /proc/2264/task/5235/fd/143 /usr/include/boinc/app_ipc.h /usr/share/boinc-manager/skins/World Community |
