Hello, I use several computers for Boinc. But I have issues with all my computers and all my projects to get work. First I removed the account manager and it seemed to help a little. Now I have this messages: 5-12-2024 10:53:57 | Einstein@Home | update requested by user 5-12-2024 10:53:57 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: project updated by user 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | piggyback_work_request() 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | [work_fetch] request: CPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) NVIDIA GPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | Not requesting tasks 5-12-2024 10:53:59 | Einstein@Home | Scheduler request completed 5-12-2024 10:53:59 | Einstein@Home | Project requested delay of 60 seconds 5-12-2024 10:53:59 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: RPC complete 5-12-2024 10:54:43 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: CPUs idle The settings for this project: 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | Einstein@Home | General prefs: from Einstein@Home (last modified 05-Dec-2024 10:47:24) 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | Einstein@Home | Host location: none 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | Einstein@Home | General prefs: using your defaults 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | Reading preferences override file 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | Preferences: 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - When computer is in use 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - 'In use' means mouse/keyboard input in last 3.00 minutes 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - max CPUs used: 4 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - Use at most 100% of the CPU time 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - suspend if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 30% 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - max memory usage: 15.95 GB 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - When computer is not in use 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - max CPUs used: 4 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - Use at most 100% of the CPU time 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - suspend if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 30% 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - max memory usage: 15.95 GB 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - Store at least 1.00 days of work 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - Store up to an additional 5.00 days of work 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - max disk usage: 20.36 GB 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | - (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: Prefs update 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: Preferences override 5-12-2024 10:53:42 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: CPUs idle There are CPU and GPU tasks available for my PC's. 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | Not requesting tasksIs the crucial line. If under options>event log options you enable work fetch debug it should tell you why it is not requesting tasks. 20GB disk space is I think a bit on the low side for allowing 4 Einstein tasks to run at once. I would be tempted to up it to 50 to give some head room. What other projects are you running if any? |

You have a 6 day queue which is massive (mine is 0.1 + 0.05 for example) but the zero seconds required suggests that it’s full. If not then try setting <sched_op_debug> on in the event log options for more details. |

In reply to Dave's message of 5 Dec 2024: 5-12-2024 10:53:58 | Einstein@Home | Not requesting tasksIs the crucial line. The work_fetch_debug is already turned on. I have 11 projects in the manager. 6 of them have work. A long time ago I did the same and then every hour it switched to other projects. In reply to Bryn Mawr's message of 5 Dec 2024: You have a 6 day queue which is massive (mine is 0.1 + 0.05 for example) but the zero seconds required suggests that it’s full. I just enabled the sched_op_debug. I paused the projects which have running tasks. Before it would fetch new tasks from projects which are allowed to run. There are no running GPU tasks at all. 5-12-2024 16:46:41 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: CPUs idle 5-12-2024 16:46:43 | Einstein@Home | update requested by user 5-12-2024 16:46:43 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: project updated by user 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] sched RPC pending: Requested by user 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | piggyback_work_request() 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | [work_fetch] request: CPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) NVIDIA GPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | Not requesting tasks 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 devices 5-12-2024 16:46:44 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] NVIDIA GPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 devices 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | Einstein@Home | Scheduler request completed 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] Server version 611 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | Einstein@Home | Project requested delay of 60 seconds 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] Deferring communication for 00:01:00 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | Einstein@Home | [sched_op] Reason: requested by project 5-12-2024 16:46:45 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: RPC complete 5-12-2024 16:46:47 | GPUGRID | update requested by user 5-12-2024 16:46:47 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: project updated by user 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] sched RPC pending: Requested by user 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | piggyback_work_request() 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | [work_fetch] request: CPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) NVIDIA GPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | Not requesting tasks 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 devices 5-12-2024 16:46:50 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] NVIDIA GPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 devices 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | GPUGRID | Scheduler request completed 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] Server version 613 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | GPUGRID | Project requested delay of 11 seconds 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] Deferring communication for 00:00:11 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | GPUGRID | [sched_op] Reason: requested by project 5-12-2024 16:46:51 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: RPC complete 5-12-2024 16:47:02 | | [work_fetch] Request work fetch: Backoff ended for GPUGRID |

Are they the debug version of the flags? I thought debug gave more info than that. |

Yes they are. It has to be some issue with the following line. When it says 1.00 sec instead of 0.00 sec, the request will be done and work will be fetched. [work_fetch] request: CPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) NVIDIA GPU (0.00 sec, 0.00 inst) |
