In the library in town are a couple of dozen PC's for use by visitors. I go in the library quite regularly, (my wife does knitting and every two weeks, a group of "knitters" meet in the library for a couple of hours chin wagging whilst "knitting" - I suspect the chin wagging gets exercised more than the needles... I meet her at the conclusion of these sessions and we go shopping), I asked if I could set up BOINC on these machines, (they are pretty basic, not fire breathing monsters, but, hey...),, the staff member referred me to some guy at the local council. He said no, saying he didn't like the license. That was, basically, end of story. I am now about to start the same exercise with the library in the town where my wife works which falls under a different council. I am fishing for ideas to get this running there, and once running there, going back to our council for another bash. I had tried, a couple of years ago, to get the national government, (Denmark), interested, but got a completely non-committal "under consideration - thank you for your comments" type reply. I suspect it is "under consideration" in a vast pile of things in a "cranks" dungeon somewhere. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

But how is this an LGPL License issue? It's more of a proprietor of the hardware issue, his decision, his opinion. |

I don't know, simply, that was the reason given. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

I agree with Jord. It sounds like: "Oh here's another weirdo. Give him the usual speech and get rid of him." No everyone is interested in trying to understand BOINC. |

>>> I agree with Jord. So do I. Trying to push BOINC is like trying to push an express train with a feather. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |
