just an idea which would be awesome as those nodes run anyway 24/7: having BOINC as an app in the Umbrel app store.

Umbrel is an easy to set up personal server which can run on a raspberry pie for example:

And it has a very nice app store where you can easily install additional components like nextcloud or syncThing.

(At the moment it runs a bitcoin/lightning node as default but its planned to move those as well to the app store to be more flexible in the usage as a personal server)

It's probably not too complicated to wrap BOINC as an Umbrel app and it would help distributing it!
