Tried to check to see what happens on my laptop with Linux with regards to that just now but when I pulled the plug, machine shut down and on restarting I see the battery is empty though it says it is charging. Might need to order a new battery before I can see. I am only ruing one core so not hammering it.

Now 70% charged and pulling lead it suspends computing so not a more general problem.
